🤝 Working with an agent or interpreter
An agent is worth it when your order is large, your time is short or you need production.
- Market interpreters charge by the day and can be found at the entrance of most big markets.
- A full sourcing agent typically charges 3–8% of the order value, or a fixed daily rate.
- Agree in writing what is included: translation, negotiation, QC, consolidation and shipping.
- Be present when the agent pays the booth — you keep control of specifications and prices.
- Good agents save money on QC and freight; bad ones add a margin you never see.
